The advantage is in QTRAP systems you can identify unknown compound because in the QTRAP the parent molecule will be scanned in the trap whereas in QqQ the parent ion after fragments in collision cell will be selected as one or two ions.
In other words:
in QTRAP Q1 is SIM, Trap is SCAN
in QqQ Q1 is SIM Q3 is SIM also

in QqQ Q1 is SIM Q3 is SIM also
