S/N as part of performing bi-annual calibration

I am curious to know if people perform a signal to noise check as part of a bi-annual or annual system check/calibration. I know noise and drift of a detector check is normally performed but do people check S/N as per USP with a known peak? I'm used to seeing S/N being performed on a method to method basis as part of a system suitability requirement run to run but have not seen it in a requirement to be performed as part of an LC calibration.

If you wanted to do it why not repeat the S/N test that was done on the install qualification (assuming you work in a regulated environment).

We don't tend to do this test as a part of our yearly calibration.

As you allude to, this test characteristic can be more picked up quite readily from a system suitability requirement every time you run a suitable method.
