Chemstation reporting; Can I increase the signal line weight?

My printer's resolution cannot handle the fine line that shows my signal, do you know if there is a setting to increase the weight of the line? I believe a slightly thicker line will do the trick. The printer prints everything else wonderfully, the FID signal is a very very faint line. Thanks! Using Chemstation Rev. B.04.01
I think on some systems you can get around this by using the old LaserJet 4 printer driver - it does not support the finer lines, so it draws them the same weight as anything else.
Usually the line is so pale when you print it out because the default color is blue…

I have Chemstation B.04.02 and windows XP and here is how to change it to black so it comes out better when you print (not the best but better).

Click the Start button; go to Programs and then Agilent Chemstation. There you can open the Configuration Editor (your chemstation software must be closed). When the window opens select Configure in the upper left corner and then Colors. There you can change the color of Signal 1 to black instead of blue.

I hope that helps.
The lines for chromatogram display and print are set by the printer driver. The easiest way to change is to try different printer drivers.

Another choice is to use commands on the command line.

For the chromatogram line thickness, use the command:

SetDataVal ChromReg[1],1,linewidth,40 <-- for signal 1

SetDataVal ChromReg[2],1.Linewidth,40 <-- for signal 2

40 is usually a good number for LC chromatogram. For GC 2 is a good number.

If you load another data file, the settings are cleared.

One could do a macro to set these for all loaded signals.

Name Usr_SetLine
For i = 1 to RegSize(ChromReg)
SetDataVal ChromReg,1,Linewidth,40
Next i
EndMacro

You could do this text in Notepad and save it in Chem32\Core as Usr_SetLine.mac (make sure it doesn't save as Usr_SetLine.mac.txt).

Now a User.Mac in Chem32\core can be used to automate this by setting a hook to run this macro. User.mac should say:

Macro Usr_SetLine.mac
SetHook PostInteg, "Usr_SetLine"

User.mac should be saved into the Chem32\core directory. Check first to see if one exists, if a user..mac already exists, open it in Notepad and append the lines above at the end.
