I'm doing quantitative drug analysis on a HPLC - Ion Trap MS (Brucker Esquire 3k+). When running samples, I got the advice not to average the microscans before acquisition (or to average 2-3 of them, but not more), and then to smooth my chromatogramm.
I'm using the Savitzky-Golay algorithm (provided in DataAnalysis software), but I don't know how to improve its parameters, nor if it would have been better to use another smooth, gaussian for example.
I can control two parameters, the smoothing width and the number of cycles. Does anybody know how to adjust those parameters? Any help is welcome, I didn't find anything with my google searches.
