9-acetylanthracene by GC-FID

Dear all,
I have to detect low level of 9-acetylanthracene by GC-FID; i've tried with a method for PAH's compunds but I had no peak. My method was: HP1 50 m, 0.2 ID, 0.33 um film; solvent: toluene, INJ 280 °C, det 300 °C. oven 50x2 min. then up to 260 ° rate 10 °/min.
What's wrong ?
Note that I've found in internet a title of a GC method for "purity of 9-acetylanthracene".

Not whats wrong but what is missing from your question.
What concentration standard did you make up ? No injection details. Should we assume that your compound even elutes at below 260C and that you held the GC at 260 for 30 mins plus just to check it was not still on the column. You might be lucky and find someone who runs this every day and will know what is wrong. For the rest of us we can only advise you if you give us full details.

I'll remain on your choice of GC for this: start with higher concentrations, establish rough conditions, find where the peak elutes (temp. and time), and work your way lower.

sorry for poor informations, I give you all that I know.
I started with a conc. of 1% in toluene, inj mode is splitless, with 15 sec. splitless, inj vol. is 2 ul. I could not see any peaks different from those of blk (toluene).
Note that I made a test with nitrobenzne and I could see it very well (sharp and symmetric).
Another details is that 9-ac.anthracene has a mp of only 79 °C, that is very different from anthracene (mp 210 °C).
