gradient for dissolution

could someone explain to me why one would do a 30 minute gradient to determine the dissolution of a tablet? The R.T. is about 20min and the peak is huge(no other peaks are present, very good baseline)

Basically 2 possibilites:
- Some other peaks *could* be present (degradation or synthesis byproducts of the API) that need to be separated by that gradient
- The method is just too complicated, as already supposed by you :wink:
If the method is identical with the one you use in assay context, it makes sense using it in dissolution testing as well.
