Does anyone know how much Shimadzu's educational discount is

I'm dealing with my local dealer who honestly seems extremely incompetent for an upgrade. The discount he offered was 15%, which seems a little low.

Maybe you can deal more with the dealer to get a better deal - in my experience, discounts are depending on the local representative.

Don't concentrate on the level of discount, can you afford the price ? does he know ? In any deal both parties should feel that they have done well. As it is an upgrade and there is probably no alternative , tell him how much you can pay and offer an immediate p/o if he meets your price. If he is any good he will be able to find some way to meet your requirements. If your offer is very silly, he walks away or similar wait a few days before chasing him regarding your offer. See how that works
