Storage of HPLC column

Hi,
A HPLC column was flushed with 5%Acetonitrile in H2O after analysis using a buffer salt mobile phase.
What impact would there be on the column if it was left in 5%Acetonitrile in H2O for 4 days?
(Note: The manufacturer's recommended storage solvent for this column is methanol.)

The column might die 2 days sooner than it would if it had been stored in methanol.

It's kind of like the old days of photographic film (remember that?). It was recommended that long term storage be done in the refrigerator, but the film did not self-destruct while sitting on a shelf at room temperature.

While I seldom find myself wanting more after reading one of TP's posts (as he has forgotten more LC lore than I shall ever learn), I would qualify the above with an "It depends on the column" as there are a few columns that will die if subjected to the "wrong" storage solvents (are you listening, X-Bridge users and manufacturer)?
