Has anyone written a macro or patch to configure a 5890 using MS Chemstation C or D? I don't plan to use MS on this unit, only FID. I have access to both Win 2K Pro and XP as well. This should not be a difficult task to do since the 5890 has a simpler instruction set than the 6890.
C might work. Aside from instrument control issues (not sure there) the D version I use cannot read the 5890 GC data file format (GC/MS still works, just not the GC).
I think I'll use 2 computers and run the 5890 separately. I'm also looking for the G1701D.00.00 to G1701D.01.00 upgrade disk. I already have a license but I need to run GPIB.
Chemstation MSD after B doesn't have any of the software necessary to control a 5890. There are several more modern third party softwares that can control it like Clarity, Unichrom etc.

I have a D03SP01 disk. I'm still looking for a Chemstation B (I'll settle for any revision though I am currently running b.01.00 on NT) so I can someday move my 5890 to a new computer. Right now I backed it up on a second hard drive on the same computer.
I've got a copy of G1701BA and can supply it to you. The software disc won't work without a license, though.
It may be small enough to e-mail.
I also have patches to run the software on Win 2K Pro.

I have a license for chemstation B. If you'd like a copy of d.03SP1 I'll make a copy of the disk for you though you will have to reinstall chemstation as it is not an update disk. my email is sschoe2@yahoo.com

I think it was mentioned elsewhere Chemstation MSD B will run under xp though sometimes XPSP3 causes it no longer to run.
I am at wpayne@zep.com. I have version 1 and the upgrade to version 2.
