I'm setting up a Varian 8200 autosampler for a 3400 GC. Does anyone know where I can get a manual for the Varian 8200 autosampler?

Thanks very much for the post, but I was wary of using this manual because it is for 3800 GC users. Do you think it would still apply to the 3400 GC?
Background Info:
Our Lab has several 3400 GCs that are still quite operational but we use manual injection. This is Ok, but we wanted more throughput and an autosampler to run at night. We acquired an 8200 and 8200cx autosamplers in expected good working order that were originally on 3400 and 3400cx GCs (what does the "cx" mean anyway). I have lots of GC and MS experience but little autosampler experience. So many tubes and there looks like an RS-232 connector that need plugged in somewhere. I assume that you have to align the thing with the injector as well (we do have the mounting bracket that fits our 3400 GC). So I need the manual, but I wanted to be sure it would be all I need to hook this 8200 up to my 3400 GC and computer.
Thanks

If I remember correctly the same autosampler worked with both models and in the same way.
But it has been more than a decade ago. The tubes allow dynamic rinsing and gas drying of the syringe. None of the little vials that Agilent uses.
CX meant an improved model. Perhaps having a built in integrator? The mounting bracket should duplicate on both units.
best wishes,
Rod

There are two CPU PCB's for the 3400. One allows autosampler control and one doesn't. You would usually receive the autosampler CPU with a GC if you ordered an autosampler with it. If you ordered an autosampler later, it would come with the CPU with autosampler control. Not sure of the part numbers for them, but I believe the CPU with autosampler control will have a brown connector on the top (it's been a while).

If you are unable to get the system working, consider looking at the Cobra Autosampler. It fits on any GC and can be moved easily if you decide to get a different GC.

Hi,
I have a 8200 which is not connected to 3400's cpu because of female connector damaged.(brown connector).
Is any body can take a photo of female autosampler connector?
