Gas Chromatography Equipment List

Basic questions from students; resources for projects and reports.

Hello,
I need to compile a list of gas chromatography equipment that uses specialty gases. However, I am very much a novice in this subject and was hoping that someone could either take a look at the list I have below and let me know how accurate and comprehensive it is, or suggest where I could find such a list. Is it realistic (at all) to locate a list of all equipment available. What I have thus far are just different types of equipment.

Thank you very much! Any advice will be appreciated!
Julia

MASS SPECTROMETERS
Incl: High-precision mass spectrometers (e.g. NU PLASMA)
Quadruple mass spectrometers (e.g. X series)

ICP-MS SPECTROMETERS

UV-VIS SPECTROMETER

PLASMA SPECTROMETERS

ATOMIC EMISSION SPECTROMETERS
(e.g. IRIS Intrepid II, ATOMCOMP 2000)

X-RAY SPECTROMETER

ATOMIC ADSORPTION EQUIPMENT
(e.g. S series, M series)

FLUORESCENCE SPECTROMETERS

ELECTRON SPECTROMETER EQUIPMENT

RAMAN SPECTROMETERS
Hello again,

I know that this question may be too vague or the answer may be too complicated to write in a forum thread. However, if you could even let me know whether I am on the right track, it would really help.

Thank you.
Julia

I do not think anyone understands your question and it may not be on "topic" for this group.
Gas Chromatography is an analytical technique and uses a number of gases as both carrier and fuel gases. e.g Helium carrier

If you are looking for a list of equipment that uses high purity gases, it is off topic and will be very long. Try searching the High purity gas supplier web sites, they might list uses of their gases.

Thank you, richard, for your reply. You are right, I should have clarified the question.

I have gotten a bit further with the subject since my last post and was wondering whether anyone could confirm the accuracy of the following information regarding chromatography / spectrometry techniques and companies that cater to the former.

A) ICP/MS, ICP/OES - Thermo Electron, Perkin-Elmer, Varian, Spectro, Agilent, GVI

B) GC/MS + LC/MS - Agilent, Thermo Electron, Shimadzu, Varian, Leco, Micromass, ABI, Perkin-Elmer

Thank you.
Yulia
