Hello,

I am having an issue with a XPT sample concentrator with respect to a pressure alarm during Bake Mode. When I change the Trap (J Type) the problem corrects itself, however, they new trap does not last very long. After taking the bad trap out I noticed that the packing had been pushed to the top of the trap (fixed brass ferrule) which must be the reason for the fault. The instrument parameters are pretty generic for the type of analysis (GRO) so I am puzzled as to why the packing is being pushed to the top. I am using a W Moisture Trap.

Any suggestions to help fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
What flow rate do you use? I was talking w/Supelco regarding the Vocarb 3000 traps I use. They said never go above 250 cc/min at any point in the method. 400 cc/min is the default flow rate for my Stratum.
The highest flow rate that I have set is in the bake mode at 150 mL/min. The bake drain flow is set to 200 mL/min but I do not believe that this setting has anything to do with the over pressure alarm.

Cheers,
