Bless: We propose to purchase a high resolution LC/MS/MS for structure elucidation of unknown compounds extracted from natural compounds. We are considering Q-ToF and IT-ToF systems. Shimadzu make LCMS IT-ToF seems to be suitable but with limited user base.
Any body using this system may help us with their opinion / suggestion on various aspects like usefulness, ruggedness, ease of use, software utility, service back up, application support etc.
As an ex Bruker sales person I still think the Bruker TOFs with their 3D identification software are unrivaled for structural elucidation of unknowns. You only true method is to send some known samples to the suppliers and to ask them to identify what they find and when presenting the results to show how this was done and the effort involved
