On Waters 2489,2487 2996 and 2998 detectors how should I test for detector noise and also how often should this be preformed.

Is this a required by the FDA?

Thanks
This should be a standard part of your performance qualification (PQ). Yes, it is required, but how often is a matter of your company's SOPs. I would say annually as a minimum and any time the detector has been worked on.

If you use Empower, you can check it:

There is also an ASTM practice: E1657-98
