Hi,

I want to know about the Silica column....
What are the good points of using Silica column than C18 or C8?
What are the bad points of using Silica column than C18 or C8?

Any other alternative choices that I can have instead of Silica column?

Thank you.
Silica should provide alternative selectivity from a C8 or C18, but will only provide a chromatographic separation under a different solvent system than a C8 or C18 (e.g. normal phase or HILIC). Alternatively, you could try a cyano, amide, phenyl, or phenyl-hexyl column to get different selectivity from a C8 or C18 using a similar solvent system as the C8 or C18.
