Hello,

I woul like here to expose some problems with the Teledyne Tekmar Atomx. Frequently the standard addition is not succesfull. The process that i go on is: After initialize the syringe and leak check, and prime with water and methanol... first: Tools/prime change standard then open the vessels and fill them. Afterwards: Tools/check standard pressure and follow the procedure indicatedd on screen. Finally: Tools/Prime Change Standard x or all standards. Sometimes i repeat the process x times and then get the goal, but it is very time consuming and standard consuming since the volume vessel is effectivily reduced without mixing with the sample?¿?¿!!!

Otherwise, perhaps related, when i pressurize the system : Tools/check standard pressure, the pressure rise very fast and even is difficult to set the require value ( 7.0 psig) pushing STEP when is achieved. The firsts times i did that process, the pressure rise more slowly. Apparently nothing has changed to.

Thank in advance,
Ricard
Hi Ricard,

Are you making changes to the pressure and initializing the syringe due to hardware issues? The only time you should need to initialize the syringe is when/if you replace it.

The standard pressure is set here in the factory and should not need adjusted. Changing the setting will definitely impact your IS/SS response. I would not consider adjusting the pressure a "normal" procedure to be done everytime the standard is swapped out. The only time I've ever used it was to evaluate the status of demo instruments returned from customers or tradeshows. Increasing the pressure will cause the pressure increase on the "check standard pressure" to occur more rapidly. The pressure control knobs on these regulators are usually slow to respond by design, so if you do have to make any adjustments, do it slowly and let the pressure equilibrate.

As far as priming the standard goes, one to maybe two times should be sufficient. Any more than that can be wasteful. When you say "x" number of times, my fear is that you are priming numerous times and going through half of your standard.

Please feel free to call or email our technical support center if you have any questions or need help.
