HI EVERYONE!!!, I JUST INHERITED A HP 7673 AUTOSAMPLER WHICH I INSTALLED IT TO OUR HP5890 SERIES II GC AND I AM CURRENTLY HAVING SOME PROBLEMS WITH IT. WHEN I START THE SEQUENCE THE GRIPPER ARM POSITIONS THE VIAL CORRECTLY IN THE TURRET AND THEN WHEN THE INJECTOR STARTS ACTIVATING THE RED LED STARTS FLASHING RANDOMLY (I CANT COUNT THE NUMBER OF FLASHES, IT BLINKS VERY FAST AND THE FLASHES ARE NOT VERY WELL DEFINED AND) AS THE INJECTOR MOTOR STARTS MOVING THE SYRINGE TO A POINT WHERE THE INJECTION JUST QUITS AND THEN MY GC QUITS THE SEQUENCE AND GOES TO IDLE. THE GC GIVES ME AN ERROR MESSAGE " FATAL SEQUENCE ERROR= 8112".

I HAVE BEEN DOING A LOT OF THINGS TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM, I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN I TURN ON MY CONTROLLER I NOTICED THAT THE RED AND YELLOW LED'S FAINTLY FLASH ONCE AND THEN IT TURNS TO "READY".

MY GUESS IS THE INJECTOR MOTOR.....ANY SUGGESTIONS ?

THANK YOU
The sampler is telling you something. you have to count the flashing sequence which tells what the error is.
Pages 5-15 to 5-29 give the key to the light sequence. The manual is Agilent part number 07673-60995 which may still be available on the Agilent web site.
