Hello people,

I was browsing the forum and I saw that the firmware updates for the 5890 and up until recently they were on the Agilent website. Nowdays they are not on their website anymore.

Does anyone have it or know where and how I can get it and install it on the 5890?

I have a version of Chemstation A10 and it will not work with the firmware I currently have.
I thought the firmware might be on the installation discs...we use A.06 through A.10, and have 5890 units.

Anyway, I do have the firmware saved on CD disc at work. I don't remember how large the files are, but I can E-mail 20MB from home. Since we don't have PM function here, you'd need to supply an E-mail address.
is the address. It would be great if you could provide me with the firmware (3.02) and the installer tool. please email me there!

Thanks a lot!!
By the way, my instrument is made in Germany.

Are the German 5890s identical to the US 5890s? Do they share the same parts, electronics etc?
I just checked, and it looks like the firmware utility I had downloaded is for HPLC only. I'd check with 3rd-party vendor like Alpha Omega Technologies or Full Spectrum for the answer to this.
As far I remember 5890 firmware is 27C64 EPROM (28 pins wide DIP).
IMO Agilent sells it for 5 USD + shipping.
Latest firmware version was 05890-80325 eprom for 5890 60015 mainboard.

Where the firmware is labeled as 3.02?

Have a look at http://www.unichrom.com/hpx890/hpx890e.shtml
and http://www.unichrom.com/hpx890/hpx890upe.shtml

Not available where I live unfortunately.

The firmware is shown as 2.00 or 3.00 or 3.02 when you start up the instrument on the initial screen.

Got it , you meant A.01.03.02

I think you can ask 5890.com (Alpha-Omega Tech)

Is your instrument connected via HPIB/RS card 19257-xxxxx or pure RS-232 19242-xxxxxx ?
