hi there?
we received waters HPLC 2690/5 equipment about a year ago.Now we have been using so well on the basic side.We have realized that we can do a lot in terms of calculation with it.management has encouraged us to try this as this will save a lot of time. Our biggest problem is on how to utilize custom fields with the empower2 software.
we want to calculate the percent assay of a drug product.incorporation of peak areas for the unknowns, standard peak area, sample and standard dilutions and potency of standard.
this formula should give results in percentage.
example:
sample area x std weight(mg) x std dilution x potency(100%)
standard area x sample weight(mg) x sample

some one please assist
Hi,

You need to know how to calibrate and quantitate peaks in Empower, this will give you a step forward.
Then make a custom field which takes the amount of the peak and divide by sample weight and sample dilution.
For std dilution and potency I would fill this in in the amount of a peak, as there are maybe more peaks.
