I'm testing a Windows XP installation of Dionex Peaknet 6.30 (with dongle) in the hope that we can upgrade our instrument PCs.

However, I get the following error when attempting to start the PeakNet server:

Could not start Cmdriver:
The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!
Is 6.3 supposed to be running on win XP ?

I once had the same error message and it turned out that it was the LAN card that didn't work with my particular combination of versions of Chromeleon and Windows (different case than yours).
Hi jdlh199

Windows XP does not support Peaknet/Chromeleon 6.3 and therefore the application can not be installed. You can install PeakNet/Chromeleon 6.3 on a W2K PC.

Keep in mind that 6.3 was released in May 2001 (11 years ago), the latest Service Pack (SP8) for Version 6.3 was released in October 2003. Pretty old stuff....

However, there is an upgrade path from 6.3 to the actual version 7.1. Call your friendly Dionex / ThermoFisher representative.

Good luck
