Serial Hub Recommendation (Agilent 6890 to Empower 2 PC)

Looking to connect 2 Agilent 6890s to an empower 2 PC. I'm advised I need a Serial hub to connect the systems.

Given that Water are quoting in excess of $3000 for a serial hub (not modified in any way) does anyone have a model recommendation for a hub I can purchase from a regular supplier for this purpose?

I'd ask some Empower 3 users about that... Empower 2 users are still probably using their Equinox boards or they've gone Ethernet (the preferred, lower cost solution, provided it can work with your Agilent).

Hi,
When the Waters representaive and I tried it with Empower 3 software a year ago, we found that the serial selection is hardcoded for the Waters serial device; in a view, you select between radiobuttons showing only serial connections from the Waters device, not a serial list with all the ports on the computer. I was unable to go around it. On that older 6890, we could not use the Ethernet connection, while Ethernet is used on newer 6890N; don't ask we why. I'm very interested if someone has been able to trick the Empower software. Hope it helps.
