Hello,

I want to control a Waters 600E HPLC unit from my own software. This would hook into my system via the IEEE 488 port on the back. Currently I am not even seeing the unit respond to IEEE 488.2 required commands.

The problem is I can't find a published spec for their data format. It is also possible the unit I am using is busted as I don't have their empower software to test with.

Does anyone know if Waters publishes any documentation about this?

Oliver
Hi,
Waters instruments don't use standard IEEE 488.2 commands. Not even to show that the instruments are on line and to check the address. Agilent instruments have documentation available, at least 10 years ago.

Csaba
