Quick question: is the Agilent 7673c autosampler system compatible with a 6890n GC/MS? I am on the market for a used one and before I purchase it I want to make sure it will be a worthwhile investment.

Thanks!!

Hi

I am not sure about this, the older turrets require a controller which use HPIB. The newer 6890N uses LAN for its comms, so you may have an issue with chemstation control as the pc probably wont have a HPIB card in the back.

I was one version off when I answered above. For some reason I was thinking the 7673 was the first version that did not have the controller. You are correct that the HPIB will not work on a 6890n with a LAN, however some of the oldest 6890 GCs still have HPIB boards in them. We had one in our lab for a while.
