Hi guys, buy mistake I washed the insulator in the ion source in the 5972 MSD, Agilent said the insulator will absorbs the methanol and you will always find peaks in your chromatograms, Also, the y said you can not clean it or bake it. Is that true and do you guys have an idea how you can clean it. It is a $300 part and I don't have the budget now. Regards

This is not a problem - just use the insulator, it will likely bake off. Methanol will show as 29 and 31, likely smaller than the trace air peaks.
