Integrating different wavelength under EZChrom Elite

Hi there, another question about EZChrom Elite.

First of all, this is for an 'offline only' license. In other words, with this license we can't do modifications to the method itself, and there maybe some fine details that's different.

Ok, my problem is, we're running a certain sample that has different compounds being more sensitive under different wavelengths (Diode Array detector). When we then want to analysis the data in offline, we can only modify the integration event and defining peaks with the first wavelength channel we've set in the method.

Say, in the method we've set 215nm and 290nm as channel A and B. We can later open the data file and see the chromatogram of both wavelengths on another computer with offline only license no problem, but we can only integrate/calibrate with channel A (215nm) but not the other one.

Is there maybe something we've missed? Maybe in the configuration of the instrument, or just some hidden tricks we've not noticed?

Thanks for anyone who might help us. :)

the offline license is suppose to allow you to make changes to all the methods and sequences that are not currently running, and also those running.
now when you are running several wavelengths like with PDA, you get several channels
there is a little window on the top left part of the window of ezchrom that has numbers it goes somethink like
1:PDA
2:MAX
things like that and you can see in a drop list the different channels that you have, for PDA in ezchrom this includes also the extracted channels from the 3D
once you have selected the channel then the integration events of the method are those of that channel and you also this on the top of the window itself
Thanks for the reply, though the reason I specify about the offline-only license is that we ordered an extra copy of it separetly from the usual software package so we can process the data on the office computer, and that only allows us to process the results, not modifying the method (apart from the quality control sections). And for that reason, it's not set-up the same way as the normal online/offline license and the drop-down box on the top left you mentioned is not set-up the same way.

I've set up 2 different detectors through the system configuration under The Enterprise, one for FLD one for DAD. These show up in the drop-down box to select and worked fine. But when I set up a 3rd detector, although it showed up in the drop-down box, it didn't represent the second DAD wavelength. In fact I'm not sure what detector/wavelength it represents (doesn't seem to control anything).

I'm at lost to what to do with this, since most information I can find gave me just what you've said above, which is not the same for offline-only license, I'm afraid. :(
Few questions:
Did you acquire with the 'off-line' license also the 3D aka DAD license?
Did you configure the instrument on the off-line license by using the 'extract configuration from data file' functionality?
If so, did you activate the DAD license under 'options' during configuration?

Configurations must be the same, by extracting the configuration from a data file acquired on the full system you would have the same functionality. I do this all the time when assisting customers on my home EZChrom system.

Thanks for the reply. :)

I'm not 100% sure what you refer to when you say the 3D license. When we purchased the offline license, there weren't any different options to choose from. I think we just told them that we want a license that can process both FLD and DAD data.

I'm looking at the key right now, and under the available options the list there showed "client count 1", "offline 4", "PDA 1" and "Super Compare 4". Is the PDA the 3D DAD license you're talking about?

I tried to configure the system like you mentioned with the data file, but when I then go to open the offline, an error message popped up saying "Unable to open this offline instrument because there are no System Suitability licenses available. Please contact the system administrator."
Hat, this clears a lot. Yes you do have the PDA aka DAD aka 3D license indeed and the required off-line license. What is missing is the System Suitability License, which prevents the configuration of the instrument by extracting it from a .dat file. Please contact your Agilent representative for upgrading your license. G4709AA triggers a license reconfig.

Thank you varossf for pin-point the problem! We're asking the local representative about the detail of the license, and hope will get it sorted soon! :D
