I need help in understanding the way Skew value of the peak is calculated by Chemstation software (LC 3D Rev. A. 06. 03[509], HP 1990-1998).
If I use the signal datapoints of the peak (that I retrieve from DAD signal in Data Analysis page through View/Windows Functions/List Content) to calculate Statistical Moments (according to the equations given in the Chemstaion Manual and using Visual Basic program) I don't get the same skew value reported in the HPLC chromatogram report (in the Extended Performance report).
Obviously, Chemstation does additional processing of the peak signal rawdata, like smoothing, prior to calculation of skew value. I need to understand what is done so that I can do the same processing myself.
