I am extracting an analyte from a polymer emulsion by precipitaiing the polymers along with water. I am getting a recovery of 106%,105% and 104% at 1st 2nd and 3rd level. The average recovery is 105%. Is this ok or shall I consider changing the extraction method. My boss really does not want to change the method because of the time and cost we have done already for this method.
Food and Drug Administration, ORA Laboratory Procedure ORA-LAB.5.4.5, version 12, revised 9-9-2005, including Appendix I, gives a range of 95-105% recovery acceptable for spiked samples.
Thank you for Consumer Products Guy :)
