I have just started using a newly acquired (used) HP5890 GC with ChemStation Rev A.10.02

I started the tutorials, changed from Operator to Manager level, and apparently used a password that I can't seem to recall.

This is a Windows 2000 computer.

Any ideas?

Henri
Question restated:

That is - any idea on whether (and how) a password can be reset or recovered for this system?

Henri
Try this http://www.chem.agilent.com/Library/Sup ... UVpass.pdf although it is not quite pertinent to your version / OS it may help
A friend at Agilent helped me solve the problem. I "simply" needed to delete a specific line in the win.ini file that set that access level. Of course without his help I would have never found that line!!!! "It is simple - once you know how to do it."

I hope someone can benefit from this - actually I hope no one else is dumb enough to find themselves in the situation I was in!

For everyone who need this.
Search WIN.INI for line "level=" and delete this.
