getting a SRI model 8610 GC to talk to the Win 95 computer

Hi,

I am trying to get a older SRI GC Model 8610 (02/28/1995)back on line. We are having difficulty getting the GC to talk to the Win 95 computer thru the computer’s serial port. When we start up the software we get "Can not open serial port error" and/or "Acquistion system is not functioning" and/or "Can't wake up check power & cable."

Peak Simple version 2.83, Pentium computer 192 MB ram 1.5 GB hard drive.

Any ideas?

you know software is free? You can just download it from here.

So try it on a newer computer with a serial port and see if this corrects the issue.

Make sure you have the right com port selected in your options. Edit-> Overall -> change the com number to the one you have your gc connected too. I have a SRI 8610C connected to a win 95 computer, so the operating systems is not your problem.
