width vs slope?

hello all,
I would like to know more about how to deal with this tow parametres..slope and width.
I am using LC SOLUTION (shimatzu HPLC).

Slope tells the integrator how much baseline rise to expect. A high slope value means that peak starts will be marked later than a low slope value, all other things being equal. For CR501s, usually start w/ 60 or 70 for slope and see if that works. Width tell sthe integrator how wide it should expect peaks to be. Too wide and it will end peaks very late. Too small and it may try to make 5 or 6 peaks out of what should be 2 peaks. Use the approximate width, in seconds, of a small peak of interest, if not the smallest.
