Determination of NOx by GC-TCD

Discussions about GC and other "gas phase" separation techniques.

Hi,

I'm trying to find a way to determinate concentration of NOx in a gas sample by GC-TCD, using a CP Molsieve 5A column, 25 m x 0,53 mm x 50 um. I'd like suggestions for the temperature settings and gas flow. Thanks (:
ale,

I have seen chromatograms from ABB for NO using argon DBD (IP = 9.3). By my notes, they used a Hayesep P (about 70C isothermal) for that and easily got down to about 0.5 ppm. I am working on NO2 application where the columns are spec'd as Porapak Q's and detector is HID (IP = 9.6). NO3 I have not seen. So, in theory, it is doable??? At least NO and NO2 are, neither on a sieve, both are multi-valve configurations.

Best regards,

AICMM
