Hi,

We have a HP 5890 II connected to a Trio 1000 mass analyser. It has been working fine until today this problem appeared. I set up the oven temperature program and wait until the NOT READY red light is dim. Then I hit START. The green light starts flashing and will not stop to become steady. And the temperature gradient will not start. Usually the flashing of the green light happens when I start the next injection too soon before the oven temperature is fully equalibrated. But this time, no matter how long I wait, the green light just won't stop flashing.
Disconnect any cables between the 5890 and external equipment. It could be that the 5890 is waiting for the external equipment to be ready. This will tell you if the problem is in the 5890 or is external.
