Similar Selectivity: Bonus RP (Agilent) vs. Prism RP (Thermo

Hi there,

Has anyone compared chromatographic selectivity between these two phases? If you look on the USP/PQRI database, then nothing comes close to replicating the Bonus RP (Agilent) phase. Unfortunately the Prism RP column does not seem to be on these databases yet....
It's in the PQRI database on the USP site. The "official" name is "Hypersil Prism"

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your reply/ Yep I've found it - I was looking under "Prism". It looks like it might be listed as "Hypersil Prism" but there are two variants C18 RP and C18 RPN - anyhow neither of these come close to a match to Bonus RP.

I have heard there was a C12 ligand variant for Hypersil Prism (but this ins't listed on the database). I wonder if this is similar to the Bonus RP as the ligand chain length is the same...
There are "Prism RP" and "Prism RPN". Both are listed as "C18", "L1" columns on the USP website, but indicated as "C12" in various Thermo literature. The RP and RPN show up as fairly different in the PQRI data base on USP, but neither of them is very similar to the Agilent Bonus RP. Thermo literature is very vague as to the actual difference between the RP and the RPN.
