If I my ECD power off and on the instrument after 2 ~3 days, peak area will always keep on increasing for over 20 hrs. The ECD is cool down before off.

Anybody know what caused this?

I tried to bake ECD again when I on it again each time. but it still take very long.
are other users always keep ECD on and never off it?

We always kept our ECD on, with makeup gas flowing. For standby conditions, we would lower the temperature some and decrease the flows to save gas. An hour or so before analysis I would bump the flow and temperature back to normal and allow to equilibrate. My understanding is that it is good to always have some flow through the ECD.
