chrom-card CE instruments 8000

Hello!

We received in our little insitute a CE instruments 8000 GC for the students.
The problem is, we didn´t get the chromcard (hardware), we only have the software (windows 3.1 disks).
Does anybody know where we can get one as cheap as possible?
Or is there another alternative to connect the GC to an other detector ? We have serveral old shimadzu detectors.

Where are you in the world ? Do you have a PC with an ISA card slot ? You can run Chromcard for Windows on 3.11 but you might choose to go for Windows 95. What you have is useless , you can free download those disks and the more modern Chomcard 32. Buying new hardware Chromatography card and dongle may even second hand prove more expensive than a basic data handling system.

Detectors , do you mean Integrators ? In which case the GC8000 will I assume be with FID ? Look either for a detector module (EL-980) or if later 8000 it may have an EL-800 built in. These will have a standard analogue output strip suitable for all data systems and integrators. You can even just use a chart recorder

Yes, integrator was meant.
But the hardware (chormatography card) is still missing (and expansive - I know). A motherbord with slot ist there.
Isn´t it possible to buy the hardware via second hand?

Hi, as was already told just for data acquisition you can use any data system which allows to acquire analog signal. Frankly speaking I'm not familiar with prices of Chrom card hardware. Just for your information the basic solution for one detector costs about 1450 EUR (hardware, software, cabling, 3 years warranty).
