How do i prepare a GLC chromatograph?

Generally, the vendor/supplier should provide standard procedures for installation and initial qualification. If you are in a regulated environment, do a search on the terms "IQ", "OQ" and "PQ" (Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification, Performance Qualification).

Vendors often have installation guides and such on their web sites. But a caution: If you have purchased a used gas chromatograph, it may have been modified or may be incomplete. If you are not familiar with GC of GCL equipment, pay someone who knows. A friend of mine asked for help wiht an instrument he bough for a "good price." It was modified, with out documentation of the modification, and turned out to be unusable without some significant rebuilding. The cost of rebuilding was too much - so this became an expensive learning experience.
