Hi all,

does anyone of you know where to look for an empty glass HPLC column with 2.1 mm ID? I found only 100 x 3.0 mm column (ChromSep), however I am looking for smaller one.

Thank you

SGE sells glass lined tubing. It is stainless steel tubing lined with borosilcate glass.

I quote:
"Connections: The use of graphite ferrules is recommended for connecting GLT™. Swagelok® metal ferrules may only be used with 2 and 3mm ID 1/4" OD, and 1.5mm ID and under 1/8" OD GLT™. Use of Swaglok® ferrules with larger ID GLT™ may result in cracking of the glass liner."

Maybe that'll work for you.

Best regards,

Robert

Hi Jiri,

If not a secret why glass?

We machine threads into our SGE glasslined tubing, so the concern over ferrules is a nonissue. For that matter, SGE sells threaded columns of the material themselves.

I want to prepare monolith in larger ID than usually and to hold the monolith inside the inner wall of the tubing/capillary/column needs to be modified. I have ordered peek tubing, but to check also other possibility I am still searching for a glass tubing.
