We have an Agilent G1364 fraction collector installed in our 1100 system running Chemstation A.09.01. Later versions of Chemstation are designed to more fully utilize all of the features available with this fraction collecter, including the problem that I am currently having, however we would have to upgrade the hardware interface in addition to the software and we can't justify the cost.

The problem is that I want to be able to set up a sequence to automatically inject from one or more sample vials and overlay collections into the same tubes. The G1364 is "smart enough" to remember where the last tube filled was located and begins collection at the next tube. It doesn't matter if you try to set up a seqeuence that loads a different blank method in between each collection method. Loading a new method does not blank out the memory in the fraction collector.

However, if I do a single injection (instead of going through the sequence table), it works. I can do repeated single injections and collect in the same set of tubes each time, but I really need to be doing things other than running in to press the START button every 20 or 40 min. So I know that the software can somehow reset the overfill counter in the fraction collector. I just don't know the command for addressing the fraction collector or the register that holds this data. I assume that it is in the format of the following command for unlocking the door on the G1364D:

print sendmodule$ (lafc1, “dloc 1â€
