Venkatadala,

A book that I would recommend as a must have when doing LC-MS is the: "Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry, Fundamentals, Instrumentation & Applications" edited by Richard B. Cole (1997) ISBN 0-4711456-4-5. Hardcover.

Although the book is focusing mostly in ESI-MS (but have chapters in LC-MS) it is the most well written I have come through. Also, the book started to show it's age but it introduces you to what you have to pay attention (compatible mobile phase additives, ion-suppression problems etc).

I am not aware of a LC-MS-MS equivelant book like the: "Practical HPLC Method Development" by Lloyd R. Snyder, Joseph J. Kirkland, & Joseph L. Glajch (2nd edition, 1997). ISBN: 0-471-00703-X. Hardcover. that covers the development of LC methods.

There are several new books covering MS and LC-MS (look at www.lcms.com ), maybe you can find something that you would be interested.
