MS COMMUNICATION ERROR

Hello everyone!

We have a Perkin Elmer Clarus 580 GC with a SQ8 MS system in our laboratory.

There is a communication error between MS and TurboMass. The error message is as follows:

'The Mass Spectrometer is not responding.
Windows must be running on this computer before the Mass Spectrometer is turned on. Let the Mass Spectrometer run for two minutes before starting TurboMass Software.
The system will run in Standalone Mode.'

I tried rebooting TurboMass, the computer and ensured that all connections were proper. Can someone please tell me what I can do to troubleshoot this error?

Resolved.

The Perkin Elmer technician guided me. All I had to do was reset the MS by long pressing a black button behind the MS, wait for a few minutes and restart the software.
