Hello everyone,
This topic may be not very new but still confusing for me as an early-career chromatographer. I'm trying to hook Shimadzu ELSD to an Agilent HPLC, what I've figured so far is 1V Output will go to 3-pin Analog in port in the A/D box (we use Agilent UIB II).
My questions are where should the Ext. events and Ext. Autozero cables connect to? and
Should I connect the A/D box to the computer to collect the signal?

I'm retired, and not well versed in the "newer" Agilent instruments. But when we had external detectors, we used an A-D "box" and it was IMPORTANT to have two cables to connect it to computer: both GPIB and the 9-pin remote cable. Some folks forgot the remote cable...not good.

Agilent APG-remote cable has two pins crucial for system functioning.

APG-ready - all nodes try to DOWN (0) that signal to indicate readiness. And maintain it HIGH when non-ready.
APG-start - all nodes should start when this signal goes DOWN.
