Hello,

Our lab is using a Clarus 600 GC that is having an issue when we tried to start the instrument. I would have thought the problem would have been explained in either the user manual or a hardware guide, but I had no luck trying to find the meaning of the message in either of these pieces of literature.

When starting the instrument the touchscreen shows the typical checks, "RAM 1, BRAM 1, PROM 1... but the I/O is X. We're not sure if that's a symptom of this problem, but once that screen finally goes away, instead of being initialized and ready to start the touchscreen just shows us that there was a "COMMUNICATIONS FAILURE". I couldn't find a meaning for this message in any Perkin Elmer Clarus literature, has anyone experienced this before and if so do you remember what the root cause to the issue was?
