Hello,

I've been spending time getting my university's recently donated LCMS up and running, and I've been obtaining good results. This morning, however, the LCMS has been throwing errors every few minutes that's disrupting runs and ability to auto tune, and interrupts diagnostic tests, some of which are failing.

I get both "Difficulty with ion optics electronics[0200]" and "DC Quad Fault [0209]."

I have experience with opening up 5975/5977 sources and cleaning the optics, but I don't have any LCMSD maintenance experience.

Any ideas where to start?

Thanks!
This sounds like it could be issues with a quad driver board, you may need to find a spare to swap out. Also good to get to the electronics and make sure that no wires were jostled out of place during transport that could cause an intermittent connection fault.

Alternatively you can also try cleaning the ion optics and quads to see if that helps things, but it's fiddly and we usually just get the vendor to do that because it can go quite wrong if you use the wrong solvents/cloths/etc.
