How long should the Pressure Builder valve on a liquid argon tank be open before igniting the plasma?

Until the pressure is high enough for the instrument. If the instrument requires 80psi, then leave it open until it reaches that pressure. If it drops while running the instrument you will have to leave it open until you finish, then close the valve when it is not being used.
The past is there to guide us into the future, not to dwell in.
