Hi all,

Our lab would like to purchase a liquid flowmeter which can be used with solvents used in conventional HPLC applications. Could you please recommend some suppliers

Thanks

I was working in the past with flowmeter which use volumetric determination of the flow rate. It works pretty well. You just need to google for "hplc flow meter" to find several suppliers. I think they all offer similar specs.

Are you looking for nano or analytical flow rates?

Jaytee Biosciences Ltd in UK has one that I bought just recently.
Tovatec in USA also have one.
These are, as far as I can tell, identical. Just a different label on them. The Jaytee was cheaper.

Agilent CEs uses GJC 5025000 flowmeters.

I used the GJC flowmeter. For higher flow rates that one from Knauer
Hi,
We are the manufacturer of the Model 5025000 flowmeter (as sold by GJC Instruments, Tovatech and Jaytee). The range of this flowmeter is 50ul/min to 25.0 ml/min. Please visit our website or contact me if you'd like information or a quote.

Hello Adele ,

How do you support your instruments post calibration validity for clients from India ? You must be aware that the re-exporting of the flowmeters is a relatively tough proposition and requires lots of paper work !

Do you have colloboration with any India agency , who demonstrates / gives local support.

Thanks
Hi,

We offer a full support for recalibration and repair of all our instruments. Our labs are based in the UK, so instruments do have to be returned to the UK for this service. We have flowmeters coming from all over the world on a daily basis and we have special permission from UK customs to temporarily import the instruments into the UK under IPR, which allows duty and tax free entry into the UK.

The instrument must be shipped to our door using an international courier! We recommend shipping with DHL or FEDEX. When you book the courier please Pre-Alert them that the instrument is coming to the UK under IPR as a temporary import for repair and return, our IPR details are below and can be used to allow the instrument tax and duty free entry through UK customs. Fedex and DHL are very familiar with processing our shipments and the required customs clearances. You will need to produce 5 copies of the shipping invoices, stating the flowmeter tariff code 9026102190. You must also put our IPR declaration on your shipping invoices to facilitate smooth clearance through customs and avoid paying temporary import duties into the UK. Here is the IPR declaration:
For temporary import into the UK for calibration and subsequent return to 'enter your country here'.
UK contact name and telephone number: Adele Goodwin 01829-770087
IPR Suspension - UK Tariff code 9026102190, IPRS number IP/0909/967/11, CPC No. 5100A04
UK VAT No. GB851516826

I think if you contact your local customs they will be able to explain how you send the flowmeter as a temporary export for repair in UK and return to India. As long as you can prove you paid duties on original import to India, hopefully this temporary export and re-import to India can be duty free?

If you'd like more information let me know, there is also info on our website www.gjcinstruments.com

Kind regards,
Adele

Hello All

Hope I have not come too late to this discussion.

An alternative HPLC liquid flowmeter is available from us:

http://www.v-kit.com/about-v-kit/v-kit- ... flowmeter/

We also offer calibration services at our UK facility, see:

http://www.v-kit.com/products/v-kit/calibration/

In addition the calibration factor of our flowmeter can be adjusted without specialised tools - making calibration in your local geography a possibility.

You have not specified your flow rate and the line size.

Before selecting a flow meter, you need to answer certain queries.

Please check the following link for more information on selecting the right one.
