modification of reversed-phase stationary phases

Hi! just new here. I am just thinking of how or what is the best way to modify a reversed-phase sp, is it by polar embedded or by polar endcapping?

Both are commercially available, which probably means you will have proponents (and opponents!) of each. What is your purpose for the modification?
