Am wanting to replace a 5890(ii) with 7673 autosampler and fid and ecd detectors...have about 35 to 40 k to spend. Any suggestions?
prefer electronic pressure control and 1c/min oven and possibly cryogenics adaptability.

Vestelshirley,

I would do two things. One, I would contact vendors and ask if they have demo units or returns. Two, I would contact reputable after-market vendors with your requirements. I suspect you can find such a deal if you are willing to take a re-conditioned instrument that is a year or two old. I have been quoted very good prices on re-conditioned 6890 for a customer of mine.

Best regards.

Call all the major GC manufacturers and ask for a quotation on the configuration you are interested in. You can probably get a brand new system with electronic flow control, autosampler, and data system for $40K.
