Could anyone help?
I am using the 1100 series LC which it linked to a DAD (agilent). However, I am having trouble getting the DAD to switch on. I am pressing the switch on at the front, but the light isn't coming on.
Does anyone know if a fuse may have gone? or has anyone had a similar problem?

Do the fans run after you press the 'ON' button (you can hear them) ? Does the unit appear "dead" or partially on ? Are the two lamps plugged in ? Check that your power line cord is plugged into a working outlet. Sometimes a circuit breaker (or GFCI) will trip causing no power to flow to the device. I have also seen power strips which develop bad outlets over time as well. Double check that power is available to the back of the system and also to insure that the IEC plug has not come loose from the socket in the DAD. Several fuses are inside the unit, but I would only recommend servicing the system if you are qualified to do so and understand the safety risks. Some DAD's have had their power supplies go bad too so this is another possibility.
*Last time I looked on Agilent's web site, the service manual for the 1100-series DAD was listed in pdf format for download. Just do a search from their LC Product Support pages to find it.

Yeah, I'd disconnect all that module's cables and then see if it turns on and initializes by itself. If so, then I'd investigate why it's having issues while connected. HPLCCONSULT is correct that most of these and newer modules won't operate/start up if a fan is bad, where the older ones would need to warm up with the fan off before you'd get a fault. And not all 1100 modules use the same fan part number.

There is no replaceable fuse in the dad. But if you switch it rarely, you can have contact probem in the main switch body. The simptom is: if you sw. it on there nothing happens like the module is unplugged from the power. No green status light on the button...
There is a simple solution for this (it is worth to try)
1. Remove the elecrtic plug of the module.
2. switch on-off-on-off-on off, three times or more as quick as you can.
4. Let the button off!
3. Plug in, press slowly and leave pressed fully for a couple of seconds. Then release the button.
If this not helps, You may have a power supply problem. If any other problem (mainoar, fan, optical unit) has, the status indicator (right up) goes red after the initialization failed.
But first of all do not forget to check the power cord!
