Dividination, I agree with you on the need to check calculation, and that it needs proper verification,
But from my experience of most CDS like galaxie, ezchrom/openlab, empower and chromeleon, unless you use the standard basic calculation scheme provided by the software then you must in all CDS do a verification.
this is true as well for empower.
the great advantage of the chromeleon system for reporting is doubled:
1. if you wish to go a little further then what your vendor gives you then you can
example: we could set up dissolution profiles calculation in chromeleon well before empower and dionex provided them. in the empower case you haver to insert the final standard concentration after doing a calculation by hand (back to the stone ages), same goes for chromeleon (they created the reports based on our work and requests for improvement like graphicla display),
but because of chromeleon reports truly ease of use nature we added them to the calculation ourselves and with the terms we want to call them. something you can wish for in empower, so yes you have to do a little check for that but at least I get to work how I want
2. because of the spreadsheet nature of the report summary reports are truly a summary. the empower assay summary results in our company for duplicates when printed out are big, consume a lot of paper. in chromeleon we can put 20 batches of assay duplicates with all standard results and all the necessary information for review in one page
for someone that demands a little more then the basic and easy stuff, chromeleon beats them all, and trust me I have tried it
