Dear Sergio,

I would very much appreciate if you could send me tbe Agilent Macros Guide PDF, as this would help me out tremendously to learn to automate what normally takes me many hours to perform. If ever I can help you in the future I will gladly!

Thanks so much,

Agilent Programming Language

Greetings!

I am starting from scratch in trying to write some Agilent GC/MS ChemStation macros (I have minimal programming experience). I have the Agilent Macro Guide, but I am still having some difficulty. Can anyone suggest a similar programming language/resource that might be useful? C++ or C Systems?? I cannot find any other reference materials or even classes available through Agilent or otherwise.

Thank you so much!

In the latest versions of ChemStation, the macro manual is included. Click on Help in the menu bar, then click on 'Commands' and then on 'Macros'. You will see 'Macro Programming Guide'. This is the macro manual.

Would you include me on your distribution list?

Thanks

Having worked as a consultant for Agilent in the past, I'd be glad to help any of you with your macros.

Email is josh.brewer76 at yahoo.com or at gmail.com

The language is very similar VB with some similarities to C (++), the key is knowing the variables the software uses and hooking them into the system without causing problems...

Sergio, I'm not certain if you still check these forums but I've sent you an email. I would like a copy of this manual as well.

Or if anyone else who has already received this manual wants to simply forward the pdf from Sergio, that would be appreciated as well.

Thanks.

Be careful about version compatibility

Just a warning - for LC Chemstation the macro language changed dramatically for the current version B.04.02 - so much so that we did not upgrade to this version on our systems running macros. Before you code your macro using old manuals, be sure there haven't been any changes. Good luck.
